Our adventure begins with several people of all ages and races being kidnapped from all over the world. Chained to the walls of a ship, they all begin to realize that they’re being brought to a secret port to be sold into slavery. Some try to break their bonds, and one particularly lucky Nilfgaardian even manages to free his hands (before being beaten by the overseer, Hafkis). During their journey, however, they were shipwrecked by a sudden squall and left on the broken ship on a stony, cold island. Six of the survivors freed themselves from their bonds and put an end to their captor. Upon exploring the island, they discovered a fight between a large band of murlocs and orcs, both groups pirates.
They saved an old man named Keestake, who’s been on the island for sixty years, all alone for forty of them. This was the secret holdfast of Kennit, pirate admiral and King of the Free Isles. It was sacked some forty years ago, and Keestake was the only survivor. He agrees to help the adventurers explore the island and find a way off of it. As it’s getting dark and it’s still cold and rainy, he suggests going into the old temple to Kennit’s god, Timothy. The altar has been defiled by the murlocs, who sacrificed a captive orc in Timothian fashion. They also filled a basin at the foot of the altar with seawater and orc blood. Some of the adventurers admired the altar and removed the desecration. After ensuring that the temple was empty and safe, the adventurers decided to end their night around a smoky fire and charred rat stew.
